La Traviata

Last call for one of the most famous operas of all times. There are few tickets left for this event that will take place on Thursday, in Campo Pequeno.

Based on Alexandre Dumas, fils, literary masterpiece, The Lady of the Camellias (1848), La Traviata is an opera in three acts composed by Giuseppe Verdi with libretto by Francesco Maria Piave. The opera debuted in 1853, in the La Fenice Theatre, in Venice and today it is a Romantic work of reference and one of the most performed operas to date.

Performed by the choir of the Opera del Mediterraneo, the Filarmónica del Mediterraneo, it will be conducted by maestro Fernando Alvarez.

The opera tells the story of Alfredo Germont’s passion for the worldly Violetta Valery, a passion that will shock the puritan 19th century Parisian society, resulting in the lovers’ separation and her tragic death for love.
