International Festival of the Iberian Mask.

Lisbon will wear a mask from 8th-11th May! Come and discover it at Rossio!
The streets of Lisbon will welcome the IX International Festival of the Iberian Mask, between 8th and 11th May.

With Praça do Rossio as main stage, the festival will feature the traditional Iberian Mask Parade, where 450 masked people from 30 groups of Portugal and Spain are expected. The north and center of Portugal, Galicia, León, Zamora, Caceres, Asturias, Salamanca and Andalucia will gather for the first time, and this year a non- Iberian group will join them. The “Pro Loco Mamuthones and Issohadores Mamoiada Sardegna”, from Sardinia will be present for the first time in Lisbon. The parade is scheduled for Saturday, May 10th, at 16:30, starting at Praça do Município, along Rua do Ouro and ending in Rossio.

But this festival does not live only of masks. Again, this year we will have a glimpse of the Iberian Gastronomy with showcookings, workshops and cooking duels. There will also be an Iberian Wine –tasting, with the presence of renowned winemakers.

The musical component continues to be a major focus of the organization, with concerts of European folk music, ska, reggae and rock music, on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon at “Palco Ibérico”.
