Opera International Gala

In a celebration of two universal languages that often appear side by side, the lyrical singing and love, the Museu do Oriente presents the International Opera Gala, on the 6th and 7th of March, at 9.30 pm, under the theme Amor Vincit Omnia (love conquers all).

On stage, Portuguese artists and guests from Luxembourg, Sweden and Indonesia, interpret arias that have made love stories of the operatic repertoire eternal, along with traditional songs of their countries and light music classics, always accompanied by piano.

Uniting the program, which spans through centuries and declines in different languages, sensibilities and musical traditions, from Alain Oulman’s fado to Puccini, from Wagner to Cole Porter, the theme of love is raised to its highest expression thru the interpretations of guest singers, solo and in a duet.
