Located in the very heart of Lisbon, in Figueira’s Square, “Figueira Marca-te” is a market where Portuguese producers have the chance to introduce their traditional products to the tourists.
Here you will find of several sorts of Portuguese cheeses, smoked hams or canned fish. Try the “bacalhau em azeite a sério” (canned codfish in traditional olive oil), on top of a slice of bread and a glace of wine, it is to die for.
But the “Marca-te”, is not only made of food and drink, Portuguese handmade tapestries and pottery with the traditional “Galo de Barcelos” can also be found here.
This is a market that takes place at the end of each month, on weekends, and it is a journey through the tastes and smells of Portugal.
